There used to be a vertramp in my hometown when i was younger. As i walked up to the ramp one day, a couple of older guys were there skating it. When one of them dropped in his friends started chanting- Mctwist Mctwist Mctwist. He did a fakie handplant and they all cheered for him. When he got back up on the platform he said his finger had been caught in the coping but that it came out right before the re-entry.
Fast forwarding a few weeks.
I´m at another vert ramp in a city in the south of Sweden telling this story to a friend of mine. An older kid overhears me saying i saw someone get stuck with his finger in the coping while doing a Mctwist but that he had pulled it anyway. The older kid said that there was no way anyone could get stuck in the coping like that, plus that no one out of Sweden could do a Mctwist anyway.
-I can, i said.
Of course he didn´t belive me so he wanted proof.
I started pumping in the bottom of the ramp and did a fakie handplant like the one in the photo, only this time about 2 meters below the coping.
Well, that´s how i though a fakie handplant was a Mctwist and also how i learnt what a Mctwist really was.
